Get ready to hear the dulcet tones of Mariah Carey once more.
It’s not quite the most wonderful time of the year yet, but we are slowly edging towards December.
And if you’re in the mood for some festive fun already, one radio station has made the executive decision to launch early, during these tough times.
Heart Xmas – a radio station playing non-stop Christmas tunes – has officially launched.
So if you’re in the mood for some festive bangers, and fancy listening to some incredible seasonal tunes already, this is the radio station for you.
The news has divided people after it was announced on Twitter, with one grouchy grinch replying: “B* off, it’s still Halloween.”
But lots of people were left tree-mendously happy by the news, with another replying: “One of the reasons why I love Heart.”
One fan joked: “Christmas gets earlier ever year…”
Another noted: “It’s been such a horrible year Christmas music would actually lighten the mood.”
The radio station will ensure all the feel-good favourites are on repeat – including Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’, Chris Rea’s ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ and obviously the 1994 hit ‘All I Want for Christmas’ by Mariah Carey.
According to Heart’s website, the station is now available on Global Player, Smart Speakers and these areas via DAB:
Berkshire & North Hampshire
Andy Everett, managing editor of Heart, said: “With the nation turning to radio for light-hearted escapism and comfort, we are thrilled to bring listeners some festive feel good cheer earlier than ever before this year as we launch Heart Xmas today!
With the clocks going back, we’re switching on Christmas as Heart’s much-loved festive sister station returns, playing the nation’s favourite festive tunes from the past 50 years, non-stop, 24/7.
“The countdown to the big day is officially on here on Heart Xmas!”
Heart Breakfast’s Jamie Theakston added: “It may be October, but we’re kick-starting our Christmas countdown on Heart earlier than ever before!
“As the clocks go back, we’re bringing the festive feel good forward to help lift the spirits of the nation over the next few months.”
